Miami Horror - Summerfest '86

The last time I posted a Miami Horror track, I threatened to sneak into your home and upload Make You Mine into your iPod while you slept. Well, I did that. Maybe you should think about locking your window at night buddy. After leaving your house, I downloaded the whole Bravado EP. Bravado is supremely good, especially the track Summerfest '86. The guitar riff used throughout Summerfest '86 lends a sense of edgy exuberance not found in the other four tracks. It adds a variety to the EP that throws listeners for a loop after they thought they had this Miami Horror guy figured out. If I had the patience to construct a "Top __ Songs of 2008" list, Summerfest '86 would easily make the top 15. Download it now before the Music Fairy* has to make another visit.

Miami Horror - Summerfest '86 [YSI]

* Unfortunate choice of words, I know.

The 'edgy exuberance' comes from the artist formerly known as Prince and his song 'Bambi' from 1979. I don't understand how artists like this can take a track, loop it up, add some drums and put their name on it...

Its called amazing production, and piece of work from one small hook.

Its one of the most common ways of composing a song, used by some of the biggest dance music artists in history. The detail and intensity in this track can only be understood by those with good ears and understanding of production and simpleness.

Learn to appreciate these things as well as understand the reference, respect paid and art involved in building upon one simple thing.

The riff in this song is also a really good replay as it says in the EP credits, not in fact directly from the original. Recreating that kind of thing would have been enough work in itself.

*simplicity

yes richardo is right, anonymous, its silly and pointless to make a deal about this, its a great track and under no circumstance would i wish it away for the sake of people like you not misunderstanding the point and idea.

This isn't a new topic, we have all been over it many times before. DP, les rythm digitales, chemical brothers, basement jaxx, justice..even alan braxe..

Maybe one day when you can write or compose a good track using the same method you will stop trying to ruins others.

Alright, at least you acknowledge the fact that you've ripped off a real artist (no pun intended), but to try and say that it was replayed? Seriously? Aside from the fact that it sounds *exactly* the same with some bitcrushing and auto-filtering, who are you trying to fool when you can even hear the original cowbells. At least show some respect...

MH is ok, but, seriously, he is overrated no-end. "Make You Mine" stinks of Prince so bad it hurts my nostrils more than some dodgy yayo. There was a reason Prince didn't have a bassline in "WDC".
