Baby Diamonds - Alaskan Thunderfuck

I first posted Baby Diamonds way back, wayyyyyy back, like Sarah Palin "time when the dinosaurs walked the earth with humans" back, at the start of June. Since then, our man in San Diego has upgraded his production values, was signed to Burn The Fire Records, and has been featured on much bigger blogs than little 'ol SSDT. Well, with all his newfound fame, Baby Diamonds, still hasn't forgotten where it all started, here*. Earlier today he sent me his new track, Alaskan Thunderfuck, and with a name like that you know, 1) the track is gonna be dope and 2) my post is gonna have some kind of Sarah Palin tie in. So enjoy the track, go read the article linked above and, "You stay classy San Diego."

Cleaning Out The 'Ol Mailbox

I'm about to post all the tracks I received last week that I never got around to posting. I apologize to everyone that actually spent their time sending me an email, but sometimes I get busy doing cool people stuff.

We'll start off with a few releases from Atlanta DJ/producer duo Rrrump. These tracks are the first releases on Le Castle Vania's Always Never record label that were not produced by himself. Check it out below.

Rrrump - Twerk It [YSI]
Rrrump - If You Want Me [YSI]
Para One - Piste Bleue (Rrrump Edit) [YSI]

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About a month ago, I started receiving emails from No Limit 2008 which included nothing but videos of people singing poorly on an overpass. I initially thought this to be the resurgance of the once dominate Master P, Silkk The Shocker, and Mystikal however there was something about the people featured in the videos that told me they never said, "UUHHHHH", their whole lives. Well, the big reveal was on Friday and it turns out the videos were teasers for the release of No Limit 2008 by I'm Fresh! You're Pretty! on FTW Records. It's a cool song but where are the people arriving in tanks made of gold and platinum?

I'm Fresh! You're Pretty! - No Limit 2008 [YSI]
No Limit Records - Make Em Say Uhh [YSI]*

Chicago's DJ Jem sent me his new Swagger Like Us remix. I know that Swagger Like Us remixes are a dime-a-dozen these days but give this one a listen cause it is gooooood.

Last week, I posted a new track by Debonair Samir (aka The Debonair One) that was released on Dress 2 Sweat Records. Dress 2 Sweat sent me a few more tracks later that week by Debonair Samir and labelmate, DJ Deeon. Go here or here to pick up the high quality ish. Definitely check out Freaky Girl, its tiiiiight!

Debonair Samir - Freaky Girl [YSI]
Debonair Samir - Throw It Up [YSI]
DJ Deeon - Grindin [YSI]

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone knows that bloghouse tracks have a shorter life expectancy than your average household gerbil, that's why Disco Villains shot me their newest remix. Their last release (Move Bitch remix) was a full three weeks, which is so long ago I thought these guys were kidnapped by pirates or something. Nice to see you are alive fellas.

Noise Beat Propaganda - Sexy Neon Wine (Disco Villains Remake) [YSI]

* I didn't actually receive this in my inbox, I just think you all need this song in your library. You are welcome.

Dead Rock Machine - Good News EP

French producers / musicians and all-around nice guys, Thierry and Romain, make up the rock-electro duo Dead Rock Machine. Their Good News EP drops tomorrow and they sent me an advance copy to spread the word to all you guys. I won’t spend much time trying to describe their sound since all you have to do is click one of those links below, but DRM’s blend of instruments and computers may remind some of Digitalism, Metronomy, or the Klaxons.

The Good News EP, split evenly into three vocal tracks and three instrumental tracks, showcases DRM’s range and skill as producers and live musicians. While their instrumental tracks are good, I like DRM best when they are singing. Good Times and London are two of my favorites. I wish yall could hear the whole EP today but you’ll have to wait a few hours. Until then, I’m posting everything that’s been cleared to post. Enjoy.

Buy Now - Body Crash (Chewy Chocolate Cookies Remix)

Its been a busy blogging day here at SSDT and I have one more treat for yall before I hang up the ole' keyboard. It's the Chewy Chocolate Cookies remix of Body Crash by Buy Now. Watch the official video for Body Crash above to remind yourself how bruising (in a good way) the original already is, now multiply the awesomeness times three because that's what the Chewy Chocolate Cookies are guaranteed to do with each of their remixes.

Buy Now - Body Crash (Chewy Chocolate Cookies Remix) [YSI]

Meddle (Designer Drugs 80s Coke Jam Remix)

You wanna know what Little Boots' Meddle would sound like in 1985 while you were high on Colombian nose candy dancing in your pastel colored Ralph Lauren suit? No? Well, I don't care, download the new Designer Drugs Meddle remix anyway, it's awesome.

The Debonair One - Next Level Bmore Club EP

Time for a little midday wildin' out. If you're at work or at school, excuse yourself from the room (this is gonna get messy), take off your shirt (all proper wildin' out is done shirtless), get to an open, well ventilated area and wild out to the Kazey & Bulldog remix of Real Bitch Roll Call by The Debonair One (aka Debonair Samir). This track is part of the new Next Level Bmore Club EP by The Debonair One released on the Dress 2 Sweat label. If you wanna pick up the 100% exclusive tracks go here or here. Some friendly advice, from me to you, you wanna pick up those tracks so go now.

Meterhead September Eight EP

Those L.A. lads that go by the moniker Meterhead are a hardworking bunch. In July, they released a three song EP in which each track was a hard banging electro remix of a hip hop classic. Now Meterhead is back with their September Eight EP. When you release as many EPs as these guys, you can't be expected to name each one.

Fans of their previous remix work will love the new tracks Newness and Escalator. My favorite of the three is the stadium rock remix Let It Go. Let It Go, which is reminiscent of the Crookers Thunderstruck remix or a sebastiAn rock remix, has an anxiety-inducing 80 second buildup, banging bass and the guitar work from the original track is reused beautifully. Pick up the September Eight EP below and decide which track is your favorite.

Meterhead - Newness [YSI]
Meterhead - Escalator [YSI]

Google Chrome

I'd like to encourage anyone who visits this site often to download Google's new web browser, Chrome. My blog and all others on the blogger domain look much better on Chrome (resized pictures look less pixelated, the three column template looks less crammed, etc.). Just a little fatherly advice, I know some of yall out there didn't have fathers growing up to tell yall which internet browser to use.

Late of the Pier - Focker (Data Noir's Breakneck Bootleg)

Day 12 without any electricity, internet or cable television at my house and now I'm seriously contemplating suicide. My preferred method so far is death by continually listening to Hypercrush at maximum volume until my ears bleed and brain matter seeps through my eyes. Until I muster up the courage to download some Hypercrush tracks, SSDT is finally back. I'll be posting from my school's library, which is much less fun than posting from work but whatevs, like Jay Z said, "Can't leave the internet alone, the game needs me."

I haven't posted in so long, I've begun to receive less emails each day. Now, to find new tracks I have to take it back to the old school and visit the forums. Putting in a little work and visiting the forums isn't all bad though, sometimes you discover jewels like this new Focker remix by Data Noir. I think we can all agree that, after hearing Focker for the first time, we all wished Late of the Pier would make a whole song out of the last 30 seconds of Focker. Well many producers to date have done just that but I think Data Noir's version takes the cake. Yes, the cake I baked for the producer of the best Focker remix goes to Data Noir. Congratulations.

Le Castle Vania - Zero Machine

Art by Ra-909 Electrik Suicide

Le Castle Vania Vs. The Smashing Pumpkins

Le Castle Vania (who has been posted on this blog quite a few times) did a remix of Smashing Pumpkin's "Zero", that is mind blowing. If you think I am exaggerating then just wait until you hear this track. It really kicks in 1 minute 30 seconds into it.

Dada Life - September Mix

Dada Life is two guys from Stockholms län, Sweden who know how to put down an awesome mix, not to mention their sick remix/production skills. I was lucky enough to get an email from them a few days back with their new mixtape.

This is how they described it: August went by and no mix. What happened? We don't know... But here we are again! Our September mix is not only packed with new hits - we also added three exclusive tunes (which you can't find nowhere else - as always!!!) and one blast from our upcoming album! (Yes, get ready...)

Listen up. We're talking one exclusive version of Eric Prydz hit Pjanoo, which is...well basically...harder than your husband. Then we tried to follow The Manual and did a new version of the Timelords/KLF classic.

Enough presentation. Go get it

Post Hurricane Ike Post

What's up everyone? SSDT is back with its first post since Hurricane Ike tried to kill me and everyone else in the Houston area (and after all that recycling I do, F-U Mother Earth). In some cases Ike tried to kill some people more than others. Take me for example. See that big ass tree in the pic above? Yeah, that's my front yard. If that tree fell the opposite direction Saturday morining, I'd be typing this post from the Great Laptop in the sky. No worries though, I heard Zeus just installed a new T4 connection so the internet should be lightening fast (I rate that "OP" for obvious pun). Anyway here are all the tracks I received during my three days disconnected from the world.

Mustard Pimp - Zombie Revenge [YSI]
M.I.A. - Paper Planes (DJ Lapse Remix) [YSI]
DJ Excel vs. Eric Prdyz - Excelarator's Pjanoo [YSI]
Chromeo and Skyy - Call Me Up Me Call (Immuzikation Blend) [YSI]
2 Pac - California Love (DJ Big Nasty Remix) [YSI]

I promise normal posts will resume after today. I don't like these mega-posts, they have even less info about the artists and songs than my normal posts.

Database ft. Bonde Do Role - Miami

Fresh off the release of their Ugly Edits EP last month, Database is back teaming up with their Brazilian countrymen to make groovy music for the rest of the world to dance to. On their new track Miami, Database and Bonde Do Role create a dance track that perfectly captures the essence of Miami. I know this because I've seen this show.

Ludachrist - Legend of Curtis EP

Ludachrist delivers upon us what they call their newest Chapter in the holy testament or what you and I may call The Legend of Curtis EP. Here is what Ludachrist had to say about their newest EP:

Long, Long time ago the land of South Jamaica was in an age of chaos.
In the midst of this chaos, in a little neighborhood in the land of Queens, a legend was born. His name was Curtis.

Ludachrist proudly presents a 3 part fantasy street tale of great treasures, beautiful princesses, weapons of great power, and heart pounding adventures. Join us on a magical journey into the world of illusion, where imagination runs wild and the unlikely hero rises the ranks to become the ruler of his kingdom. Experience the challenge of endless adventure!

Now I know some of you may be thinking, "I like Legend of Zelda, not sure how much I like the music from Legend of Zelda though. And I can tolerate 50 Cent in small doses. But both Link and 50 Cent, together, over three tracks? I don't know Ludachrist." To all you neighsayers, I assure you that Legend of Curtis is not simply 3 tracks of 50 Cent flowing over a midi track from 20 years ago. That's only one track and its actually pretty badass. The track How Does It Feel brings together Hustler by Rick Ross and Blue Monday by New Order, while Soul On Ice unites Young Jeezy's Soul Survivor with Cold As Ice by Foreigner.

Each track is righteous and I wouldn't expect anything less from a group that takes its name from the great Ludacris and that Christ fellow everyone is always talking about.

Ludachrist - How Does It Feel [YSI]
Ludachrist - Soul On Ice [YSI]
Ludachrist - The Legend of Curtis [YSI]

Drop by their myspace page for details on their T-shirt design competition underway right now. First place prize is $100, 6 T-shirts and guest list to every Ludachrist show ever, until you die.

Dskotek on Discotech

You don’t have to share the same name as the blog to get featured on SSDT, but it sure helps. It also helps if you make badass music, so it was nothing short of destiny that LA based DJ/producer Dskotek be featured on this blog. The original track and both the remixes he sent me are awesome, plus he shares the same name as the blog (even though he spells discotech horribly wrong*). Check out Dskotek below.

M.I.A – Paper Planes (Dskotek Remix) [YSI]
Dskotek – Sinfonia [YSI]
Mockin’ Bird – Hissi (Dskotek Remix) [YSI]

New Immuzikation Blends & Remixes

It looks like Immuzikation is back from his self-imposed internet time out and I think we are all happy about his return. I'm sure yall already picked up his previous songs that signaled his triumphant return. All the tracks are spectacular and I'm including them below for all you stragglers. The track that has me posting right now though is his new Santogold and Treasure Fingers blend. I already told you it has Santogold and Treasure Fingers so I don't really know what else to say to make you wanna listen to this track. If it helps to assuage any doubts you may still have, I assure you the song super funky fresh.

Readers Know Best 2

Whether assailing other commenters, calling tween popstars cokeheads or discussing Oprah's feminine hygiene regimen, C. Moore Balzac always keeps it gangsta bitches. So when he recently asked for more Santogold remixes, I could not think of any better way to reward a loyal, slightly crazy reader. Below, are various Santogold remixes. Some newer than others, some better than others. I'd have to say the David Rubato remix is my favorite of the bunch.
